Precalculus completes the formal study of the elementary functions begun in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. Students focus on the use of technology, modeling, and problem solving. Functions studied include polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, rational, radical, piece-wise, and trigonometric and circular functions and their inverses. Parametric equations, vectors, and infinite sequences and series are also studied. - Taken from MCPS curriculum

Class Expectations
My classroom is a place of learning. In order for learning to take place, I expect that you RESPECT yourself, classmates, teachers, and classroom.
I also expect you to be in class every day READY TO PARTICIPATE (on time, with the proper materials, and with the proper attitude to succeed).
Grades
Quarter grades will reflect individual achievement or performance on MCPS course expectations and will be determined using a variety of assessment methods, with weighting as shown below:
Homework for Practice or Preparation for Instruction 10%
Formative Assessments 50%
Summative Assessments. 40%
Attendance
Students with three unexcused absences in a class will be warned of the possibility of failure. Students who are unlawfully absent from class five times will automatically be required to submit an appeal of record. If the student does not complete an appeal they will be considered in danger of failing the course. Three tardies equal one unexcused absence.
Cell Phone & Ipod Policy
Cell Phones and Ipod?s are PROHIBITED in class. During the first two weeks of school, any student having a phone or Ipod out will be warned. After the warning, I will take it and hold onto it until the end of class. After the first two weeks of school, any phone or Ipod out will be handed over immediately with no warning. Any complaining or whining will result in the student being sent down to ISS. Again, Cell phones and Ipod?s are PROHIBITED!!!
Make-up Policy
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get missed notes and assignments as well as to make arrangements for your make-up tests/quizzes when you are absent. Make-up quizzes will be given at the teacher?s discretion and must be completed in a timely fashion. All make-up quizzes should be taken prior to the end-of-unit assessment. The deadline for all assignments is the date of the end-of-unit assessment.
Once a test for a unit has been completed, no make-up work for that unit will be given out or accepted. This is the final deadline for any make-up or missing work. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
